Product Installation
Every step of the way.
Applied Watch strives to ensure that deployments of it's Command Center suite are successful in any network operating environment. From small offices to large military bases that span multiple buildings and campuses, Applied Watch offers on-site expertise for performing any size deployment in both commercial and secured military sites requiring high levels of personnel security. At it's Chantilly, Virginia office, Applied Watch staffs several TS/SCI Polygraph cleared personnel who work with military and special warfare groups for achieving success in even the most secured military locations.
Available for on-site installations anywhere in the world, Applied Watch can assist customers in ensuring successful implementations as well as provide initial policy tuning and ruleset configurations once systems are in place.
Implementation of the Applied Watch Command Center is designed around a detailed installation plan that ensures operational readiness of the product by addressing pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment potential issues. Three stages of the on-site installation are exercised:
Pre-Deployment
- Configure the management interface of all Applied Watch powered SNORT® sensors for IP network range.
- Request a list of all Applied Watch allocated IP addresses and DNS names.
- Create documentation on network interface names, IP addresses, and network segment they are monitoring. This would also document the configuration of the IDS/IPS sensors and Applied Watch Server.
Deployment
- Install any NetOptics Ethernet Taps. This requires network outage and should be done during appropriately scheduled maintenance windows.
- After Tap implementation, test Internet connectivity from inside network.
- Install Applied Watch Server.
- Install Applied Watch IDS/IPS Sensors.
- Install Applied Watch Dashboards on workstations.
- Check all IDS sensors to ensure they are each firing alerts by performing scans.
Post-Deployment and Quality Control Plan
- Hold post-mortem implementation meeting. This meeting will address hardware, firmware, and software upgrades and patches as well as follow-up support information. Support will be offered 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The Applied Watch Support Center will automatically escalate all tickets received during the 3 month IDS tuning period.
